The European Forum Training and Research in Family Mediation is a voluntary not-for-profit professional organisation which draws together national, regional and local organisations in Europe working in the field of divorce, separation and family conflict. The European Forum was established in 1996 by family mediation trainers from European countries who worked together in a series of meetings co-ordinated by the training committee of the French association APMF (Association pour la Promotion de la Médiation Familiale). The aim of the European Forum is to develop, promote and co-ordinate training and research in the field of family mediation in order to provide quality standards for the practice of family mediation in Europe. Objectives
Membership Statutes define 2 types of members: Full membership is available to training institutions offering a full and complete course of training in family mediation which meets the criteria defined by the Training Standards Committee (TSC). Each institution admitted to full membership of the European Forum is represented by a named individual member (delegate) who is formally appointed in writing. Associate members are individual members who are able to demonstrate their competence in the field of family mediation and/or national or regional associations of training institutions and/or other organisations interested in family mediation. |
